Sugar : a friend in need becomes the enemy indeed

People with Diabetes have high blood glucose levels because -

Pancrease do not secrete enough insulin

Their body does not respond to insulin, or both.

As a result, glucose is not able to enter the cell and get converted into energy. Thus glucose level goes up in the body and diabetes sets in.
